Soul-full Christmas Gifts!

There is nothing like giving or receiving a gift that makes the soul smile! Following are a couple of thoughtful Christmas gifts that promise to nurture the mind, body, and spirit of those we love!

Hatshow

This is probably the coolest gift I received this Christmas! Nashville’s famous Hatch Show Print has teamed up with The Common English Bible to create the coolest paperback Bibles this side of the Mason Dixon Line! You can choose from an assortment of bright and inspirational covers. And they are only $24.00! You can purchase at Hatch Show Print or Cokesbury!

lovenotes book

Boy do I have great friends! This is another fun Christmas gift I received this year! It’s a book of love notes that you can tear off and leave on your sweetheart’s pillow, tuck in a child’s backpack, post in an envelope to someone who needs a “happy,” or pin to the fridge for inspiration! You’ll find quotes by Emily Dickinson, Van Gogh, e.e. Cummings, and so many more! Go to www.sugarboodesigns.com or stop by your local Paper Source store.

One City Two Brothers

This is one of my all time favorite children’s books. Not only is the French illustrator Aurelia Fronty inspired, the message in One City Two Brothers incarnates the Christmas message of Love so beautifully. The entire family will treasure this book!

bucca

I cannot believe I’m letting the best kept secret in Nashville out of the bag. But if you really want to give a gift that will put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas, treat them to a 30 minute reflexology at Bucca Foot Spas for $35. They are located at 4231 Harding Pike across from Saint Thomas hospital. Reflexology is great for relieving stress, balancing the body, and peace!! Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with my feet!

croissants

I could just pinch myself I ‘m so happy to introduce the arrival of an authentic French gourmet shop called Little Gourmand here in Nashville! It’s just heaven to visit the beautiful shop and hear the owner Guenievere Milliner speak French! Guenievere has always dreamed of opening a French foodie store. From Brittany, she and her husband (both are lovely!), did the research to see what was the most up and coming “foodie” destination in America and it was Nashville! Think cheese, chocolate, foie gras, teas, cookies, fleur de sel, Herbes de Provence, coffee, croissants: Heaven! Is there anything better than a warm croissant (butter or chocolate) with Apricot Lavender preserves, all fabricated in France?! A bag of six chocolate or plain croissants (all you have to do is warm them in the oven in the morning) are $6.00 and the jelly is $15. A dreamy gift for Christmas morning breakfast! Please visit the store at 2209 Bandywood Drive or order online at littleGourmand@gmail.com.

teaandhoney

You can’t have bread without honey, right? It’s my daily ritual to enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon. Just boiling the water and spooning out the honey calms my spirit. What a coup that Little Gourmand carries the world famous Kusmi tea! I favor their herbal Verveine tea for $15! But what made me do a cartwheel was Little Gourmand’s honey selection imported directly from Provence. I highly recommend their Lavender Honey and Rosemary Honey for $13! Talk about feeding the soul!

Blessing Bracelt

I love my Benedictine Blessing Bracelet. The bracelet has the ancient Benedictine medal with the image of St. Benedict and the Benedictine cross. Since 600 AD Christians have worn the Benedictine cross as a symbol that they were under the protection of God!  The card reads: Wear this bracelet to remind yourself that God has given you a mission to make the world a better place, and that you can choose to fulfill that mission by using your hands to do good. Each bracelet is hand-made by women in the pilgrimage town of Medjugorje (Holy pilgrimage site of the Apparitions of Mary). You can find them at the Perfect Pair on Bandywood (at the same time you are shopping at Little Gourmand :). Or go online to MySaintMyHero.com.

“The One who numbers the stars knows you by name.”

I am ending on my favorite gift this Christmas! The gold cuff bracelet is engraved with the sacred words from Psalm 147. Is there anything more beautiful than being reminded that just as God knows the count of the stars in the sky, He knows you by name?! You can find the bracelet (and both of my books!!!) at White’s Mercantile at 2908 12th Ave South! Or go to www.exvotovintage.com. Proceeds from every purchase of this bracelet go to The Cure Starts Now, a foundation for Pediatric Brain Tumors!
