Raindrop Baptism

This morning began quite ordinary, as miracles do.

A walk in the emerald wood.

Until the skies opened

And the Spirit revealed Herself swathed in the wind.

A squirrel, a pair of chipmunks and a bluejay stopped what they were doing and sat in rapt attention

As I received my raindrop baptism.

How quickly the ordinary turns sacramental.

The surprise lightening bolt was just a reminder that things won’t always be pretty

Until they will be again.

Today I received a raindrop blessing

The trees as my holy witnesses

God must have known I was due for a transformation.

I shall not be returning home the same.

Amen.
